Low Self-Esteem

CBT worksheets to support teenagers with low self-esteem:

Low self-esteem can significantly impact health and social outcomes, is a prospective risk factor for depression, and may contribute to anxiety difficulties during adolescence.

CBT interventions for low self-esteem (LSE) are typically based on Fennell’s cognitive-behavioural model (Fennell, 1997), which addresses maintenance factors, underlying core beliefs and unhelpful attitudes.

Our resources are designed to help you help young people understand their self-esteem difficulties and self-critical thinking, engage with monitoring activities and develop self-compassion.
