You are not your thoughts
This worksheet introduces clients to cognitive defusion, a key technique in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a third-wave cognitive and behavioural therapeutic approach (Hayes, 2004).
Cognitive defusion helps clients observe their thoughts without becoming entangled in them, shifting their focus from the content of their thoughts to the act of thinking itself. The worksheet is designed to help young people create distance from their thoughts and respond more adaptively.
