CBT Resources for Transdiagnostic Approaches in Children

Transdiagnostic approaches focus on the shared features underlying many emotional and behavioural difficulties, applying core CBT principles across conditions (Barlow et al., 2018).

Our transdiagnostic resources are designed to help practitioners deliver generic CBT strategies to support children experiencing anxiety, low mood, and emotional difficulties.

They include:

  • Psychoeducation worksheets on self care and making mistakes

  • CBT activities exploring thoughts vs feelings, and facts vs opinions

  • Behavioural experiment logs to help children learn from experience and practise flexible, balanced thinking

  • Child-friendly graphics, language and examples to make CBT principles accessible and engaging
