Low Self-Esteem

CBT interventions for low self-esteem are commonly informed by Fennell’s cognitive behavioural model (Fennell, 1997), which focuses on underlying core beliefs, self-critical thinking, and the patterns that maintain low self-worth over time.

These resources are designed to support therapeutic work with teenagers by helping them make sense of their self-esteem difficulties, recognise unhelpful self-criticism, and develop more compassionate and balanced ways of relating to themselves.

The materials encourage reflection, monitoring, and skills practice in a way that feels accessible, relevant, and appropriate for real sessions.
